The Dawson Creek was one of the premier TV shows that carried the legacy of many other teen-themed TV shows of the United States of America that were aired in the early 90’s. This television series was first telecasted on 20th January 1998 and went on till May 2003. There are four main characters in the entire series and one among them is Williamson played by Dawson Leery. The story starts off with four friends who are into the first year of their high school and revolves around these four friends and their introspection into teenage life.
These four friends have been portrayed in such a manner that they have reached the audience very well. Each of these characters has many different sides to their personalities and is very complex to explain. But the directors have been excellent in this regard in making the people understand the characters in the best possible manner.
Another important thing that was the reason for the popularity of this show was its excellent storyline. The music too added to the popularity of this show. Each of the episodes was excellent in its own and was the directors had carved out a niche for themselves. However, Longest Day (3rd season) remains the favorite episode of the people who have been following this series closely.
Out of the four characters, Joey and Williamson were liked by the public and probably their onscreen relation added to this popularity of theirs. At the end of the sixth season, the relationship between Joey and Williamson is brought to an end in a rather emotional manner.
When the series first aired in 1998 many people had different views as the series covered a number of different teenage issues and some of them were shown in a way that not many people appreciated it. The show ran into some controversies with its racist dialogues that went beyond the teenage mindset.
